Replacing ZZ4 350 Oil Pan Gasket

I'm changing the cam in my ZZ4 350. I'd like to do it in with the engine in the car, without removing the tranny. The engine has a one-piece rear main seal. What are the chances I could drop the oil pan and then put things back together without replacing the one-piece rear main seal....and avoid oil leaks? Thanks for the always great help!!

you do not have to deal with the rear main seal less you want to ? the pan can be done with out getting in to the rear main it is under the rear main cap the oil pan gasket is seals on top of the main cap

Thank you, Pat. Plain to see that I to date, I only have experience with the two-piece seals. This will motivate me to get it done.

there a seal adapter that bolts to the back of the block this will stay on so you will be ok wip the oil pan rail down with thinnner . on the one piece pan gasket try not to load it up with rtv i only use it on the front cover lip and back seal adaper watch what you use on the pan gasket if you reuse it some solvents can swell the pan gasket .i put just a dab of rtv on the studs to but that a bout all .if you feel you must use rtv on the hole gasket then put a very thin coat on and draw the pan up let it setup come back when dry and give your bolts a 1/4 of a turn the next day
