digital guage question
Ok well some of you have seen some of my work. Now I need some of your help. I have a custom digital guage kit from dakota. And we cant figure out what the problem is so now i need some help. The temp guage reads 200+ but the manifold temp and radiator is well below that like 140-165 all the time. We have changed the sending unit and the wires to the box. Have any of you all had a problem like this? What did you do to fix it if you did?Automobiles have one of the best understandings..

Are you using the correct sender for the gauge??? Never had any problems with the Dakota gauges, put a few sets in.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Yea I called the techs. They said to make sure I have good grounds on the engine. I do. Make sure there is no thread sealant on the threads. I did that. So I am feeling like I am pissing in the wind lol....Automobiles have one of the best understandings..

Geez, don't really know what to say, if you have a good engine to chassis ground and no sealant, changed senders...... Like I said, never had any trouble don't know which way to go on it.
Maybe the old hot water test on the sender? Measure the ohms, suspend the sender in some very hot water, see what the ohms are??? Be unusual to have multiple bad senders but I guess it could happen..... If the sender is good, then Dakota Digital needs to be fixing the gauge I would say!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Well thats where I am at. One last question. This motor was dyno tested what would the chances be that the water is moving faster past the sender. Maybe slow the water down with an underdrive pulley? That was a thought. I do know that like when I drive the truck and touch the aluminum radiator its not really hot at all. Not like the race cars I am used to building. So know I am over thinking this whole problem.Automobiles have one of the best understandings..
