    Talking one last roof question

I thank all you for your input on my roof and I think I agree with you all I think you have pounded it in my head that the best thing, and what I would be happiest with is a donor roof... my last question is what does one usually have to pay for one from a junk yard? and what would be the best for my model A tudor 1929??? chevy astro van ? dodge caravan? chevy celebrity station wagon? and what year vans would be best I would like a smooth roof no ribbing...

    thanks,
    simon

Dodge Caravan, especially if you can find one that didn't have a roof rack on it.... other then that, most any old station wagon. Whichever you get, get the roof braces with it, they're light but structurally do a great job.

you mean your ( first ) last question!

Don't pay more for ( just ) the roof than the junk yard will pay for the whole car.

first call around, and say you have a ( #### ) car which does not run, and how much will they give for it ( delivered ).

Then you have a base price to start haggling.

Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

I'm not sure what this guy used but I like it:

Then there is always the way I did it for $450.
