Just wanted to thank y'all for the advice!!!
I got the column torn down and replaced the ignition switch, turn signal switch and wiper switch, figured as long as I had it torn down might just as well replace them also. I managed to find the switches at a old auto parts store in a town nearby, this store has been open since I first started driving, just took the switches in and the counter guys asked what year, then disappeared into the back out they come a few minutes later with the new switches.
Everything works now that didn't.
Unfortunately when I was reassembling yesterday I broke the cheap plastic turnsignal fitting that cancels the turn signals, the three screw mounting points shattered and of course no one has that part around here...not a big deal I'll just have to remember to cancel the turn signals manually.
Oh yeah one other thing I need to pull the hub again got it on a few grooves out, didn't notice it until I went to remount the steering wheel...I have a banjo 3 spoke wheel so it is really noticeable.
Again thanks guys, really appreciate the advice
