separating hub and drum
I have an early Econoline front drum that I need to separate from the hub. I want to do this without damaging the hub. Are the studs swedged like they were in earlier years so I'll need to cut the studs off?
Everytime I inquire I get the same answer...........BFH! If that doesn't work try the bigger BFH. I'm not totally against this method but only if it's the proper method.
Thank's Ron

Did you already pull them off the van.
What I have done when I didn't have access to a press
or it wouldn't come apart is.
Put the drum under the car then put a 2X4 on top of the hub
then put a bottle jack on top of that and jack it up.
Please use a car your not working on.
Thats usally heavy enough to press it out.

It's actually an econoline axle on my T bucket, I have access to a press so I will give it a try. It is off the car and I've given it a few good whack's, I just hate to go Genghis Kahn when it's not needed.
How much did Santa have to pay for his sleigh? Nothing! It's on the house! .
