Thread: Summit Brand PASS/FAIL

I have many Summit brand parts and "things" - so far the only item that I'm not fully satisfied with are the valve covers currently on my engine. They have a sub surface corrosion that will polish out if really aggressive on my buffer wheels, but the usual polishes wont clean them up - so they'll go to a swap meet and I install my new Billet Specialties pieces. Chinese made and probably cast from recycled beer and pop cans
Their tools are IMHO for the most part comparable to Harbor Freight. OK, but not for semi pro or pro hard use plus too expensive if you factor in shipping.Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

I brought a Summit brand radiator. Good value for money even with the $25 international handling fee . However it wasn't fully welded , the leak was that big that the water came out almost as fast as it went in. Having said that Summit payed to have it fixed . So it's a PASS+ .

Plumbed the sprint car using Summitt brand push lock hose and fittings. Going on the third season and all is well...

Starter - pass, gas line kit -pass, gas filter - pass, and a ton of other stuff non summit brand that have worked out well. Service is excellent, knowledgeable, friendly staff, great return policy, and lightning fast shipping on in stock parts! Best company around IMHO. Steve." "No matter where you go, there you are!" You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
