    Mopar/AMC Powertrain swap...

I pulled a 318 and it's 3 spd tranny out of a '75 Duster, and I want to jam it into my '63 AMC Rambler. Does anyone know of any swap kits or pointers on what I need to do to pull it off? I also heard that AMC parts are or very similar to GM parts is this true? Any help is good help.

What model Rambler, American, 440, 660? It makes a difference. I have a 65 Marlin with a 454. And not many GM parts interchange outside of ignition parts.

You have a closed driveline. So to use the Mopar trans, you will have to adapt it to the closed drive, or change the rearend and fabricate a new rear suspension. you can use the coil rear springs, and the stock panhard bar, but you will have to fabricate lower control arms, and a torque arm, or go to some type of 4 link rear suspension. On my car, I converted to leaf springs, but I had to build pickup points for the front and rear of the springs.

As far as the engine goes, there is plenty of room, you will have to fabricate front mount towers to fit the Mopar engine mounts. You should be able to use a Mopar radiator too.

I know of no kits to help you, you are pretty much on your own.
