confused Quadrajet
I've got a roller 350, the damn thing has a nasty shake to it to begin with, but I can't seem to get it to Idle properly. Anyone have any tips on how to set it, and how to keep it from bogging so much. Carburators confuse me, Typical diesel mechanic .

Have you rebuilt the car? also what is the number stamped on it? The quadrajet is a snap to tune and rebuild. Is it running rich or lean? Also was this carb on a 350 before.

I couldn't tell you what the casting numbers are, The motor is in storage right now. It seems to me that it is running a little rich, but that could also have something to do woth the cam, could it not? I will try to get you the casting numbers, where would the corect ones be located? I hope I can get to it, the snows getting pretty deep up here lolI've got the itch to lay some rubber down!!! ~Thanks grampa! its been 10 years worth of work, I just wish you could see it~

replace it with a edelbrock, I just got a quadra jet rebuilt put it on and as soon as the fuel started flowing it was spitting gas out the top, took it off , took it back to the rebuilders had them check it out, they told me it was junk and that you can only rebuild a quadra jet 4 or 5 times and keep it functional, I let them have it and went and bought a 1406 edelbrock.

Check the cam timing, sounds like it could be off a tooth.

Check for a wasted vacuum pulloff on the choke. during the 80s at least, the pulloffs liked to leak on these carbs, causing the conditions you described.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

the numbers are on the drivers side by the throttle linkage on the main body
