I have a Sears 2 ton - which I don't trust as it occasionally decides to lower itself. It goes up fine, but.... I also have a cheapie Taiwanese 2 tonner that I bought about 1987 to replace a dead pretty good one. It still works fine after lots of abuse. It even will lift the front end of my 4x4 V10 F350 - but it's starting to drip oil now (wonder why!!)

Whatever you buy, cheap or expensive, give it a good work out and make sure it will stay where you want it at least 'til you can get the jack stands under the car
