    Scan tools?

I was just wondering what is your prefered scan tool, my shop is in the market for a new one. We are mainly a truck & bus shop, but more and more we find ourselves working on cars and light duty trucks. Which our Pro-Link is not compatable with.
Any input would be greatly appreciated, because as you know, according to every sales man, thier stuff is the best. lol

    Keep it shiny side up!

OTC or Snap on if you want to spend the big bucks. I have a cheap one I got at Advance Auto at home. Not as good, but does what it's sposed to do.

I use the OTC Genysis, works very well for me, plus I can reflash G.M. ECM's and put a 5 gas anylizer on it.... never liked snap on's scanner..... you can hook the OTC up to your pc or laptop and look at a bunch of data all at once on the same screen plus you can then store it or print it.
Only gripe I have is the screen will go black in high heat situation and you can not see the screen if your in a lot of light, only other gripe is the price of updates but of course that goes for all the upper line scanners.......

I have used the genesis ones, and had a ton of problems. Snap ons are fairly forgiving, and the updates are usually rather accurate. Go for one of them.

We are looking at the OTC Genysis scan tool, man you can do alot of stuff with it. I think we are going to go with it, because one mechanic at my shop is albino and has bad eyesight, he just finds it easyer to use. The blind guy is the wiring wizard, figure that out lol
I've got the itch to lay some rubber down!!! ~Thanks grampa! its been 10 years worth of work, I just wish you could see it~
