    Budget rear end

Well, I am trying to finish up my camaro for the most part this weekend. I am fairly confident that my rear end is a 2.73 one wheeler. I wanted to have a good rear end built whith 3.73s and a posi unit, but I am running very close to the ceiling on my budget, at least for now.(gotta let the bank account recover a little before my young wife divorces me)
My buddy has a 3.08 rear end from his car that he would probably part with cheap or free for me. Would this ratio help at all? I would like to have the rear end out anyway so that I can drop the tank and clean it out. I will also be bending my fuel line tank to pump for the first time. Any tips on that would be great also. I have a 5 speed if that matters.

I had an '81 Camaro with a 3.08 and 4 speed - it was fun to drive and I never had a lick of rearend trouble. The 3.73 is a good goal, but in the meantime, the 3.08 will give you a noticeable bit of snap over 2.73s.

    Have Fun,
    Glenn

    Yeah, don't kink it.

I have a Snap-On bender that I've used for 30-odd years, still works well. NAPA should have a selection of benders, maybe the K-D line of tools.

By all means - use a bender. You will ruin a lot of tubing and not get the results you want if you try and do it by hand..
