    turbo questions

     



    im hoping someone here can help me out here
    i just recieved a turbo for a project its a garrett turbo from a 6.0L ford diesel
    im having trouble trying to locate parts namely the main shaft and exhaust "wheel" does anyone know where i can find either part or know if this is worth rebuilding?

    Just keep in mind ,that turbo is sized to feed 400 some odd cubic inches at 3000 rpm .Less than ideal for a 454 at 6000 rpm.
    It might work well on a much smaller motor at about 5500 rpm tops.
    Might want to get the specs on how much air it feed before getting too far into it.
    Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)

    It would be going on a 4.3 v6 I also have a small 13b turbo would that be better suited for this motor I'm looking at a low boost setups

    With all due respect, you need to do some reading and learn how to size turbos.....

    We built & sell our own turbo's, we us to make all Garrett's turbo's from late 70's-93 then the French bought the contracts. We now have our own line of housings and use Garrett/Airesearch rebuildable centers.
    Here is my brothers Toyota MR2 mid 4cyl motor with turbo. It puts out 1000hp. the turbo's inlet is 4"

    here is one i built soon to be on the dyno was a ZZ502/502 that i rework out to 540 did all the engine building and headers down tubes fuel rail ex the roller cam was a ken duttweiler grind the turbos are abit on the small side .i just glue it all together
