    Keeping The Engine Clean??

I have a T-Bucket I just bought. I drive it alot, but how do I clean the engine without hurting the electronics?? And getting the crap from the road off. And stop the crap from cooking on the engine? I am told not to use high pressure hose, because it will hurt the electronics.

How do most wash the engine and keep it shiny??

I wash mine just like the rest of the car, using car wash soap and a garden hose. I also drive mine in the rain (ALOT ). In fact I drove my 27 through some rainstorms that I kept wondering when it would drown out, but it never did. We get some very serious downpours here in Florida..........sometimes daily.

What electronics are you worried about? The distributor? If so, just put a plastic bag over it and maybe the carb(s) and wash away. I take an air hose and blow mine off when I'm done. If you wash it frequently it shouldn't have a chance to get all that dirty anyway unless you have some oil leaks.

Much depends on what you engine is painted with that will determine how easy the dirt comes off. I use catalyzed automotive paint so dirt washes off just like the rest of the car. I also don't baby mine a lot and it gets filthy in our shop, even with a cover over it, so when it gets washed it gets a really good soaking.

Unless you have some exotic electronics that I don't know about you will be fine. Oh, and welcome to the forum. How about some pix of the T, we love looking at pictures.

I have a siphon adaptor air blower think that goes in a gallon jug. I just mix up a gallon of Simple Green and water and spry the motor down. Then I either just wash it off with the garden hose or switch the Green jug out to a plain water jug. Works for me.
