Buick Tech 1937
Not exactly a hotrod issue, but before start to change things, I would like to see if I can get this old thing running. It's a 1937 Buick Special Staight 8. It appears that it hasn't been run in probably 40 years. I am lokking for any tech manuals for mechanical, or electrical that apply to this car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice project. Back in 1967 my older brother's friend had a 1938 Buick Special with the 6 wheel package and the 320ci engine. The back doors were suicide style. Lost track of the car now. Good luck with the manual search.

It's worse than I thought. Motor's froze. I think it would be best to find a donor car, canabalize it, maybe a 60,s or 70,s fullframe, modern drivetrain, suspension and drop this body on it. All it takes is time and money, I got plenty of time.

1937 Buick track was 58.31" front, 59.25" rear. Special wheelbase was 122.0", Century wheelbase was 126.0.
A good match from the track standpoint would be the '78 to '86 Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino, Olds Cutlass and Pontiac Grand Prix at 58.5" front, 58.8" rear. These were full frame cars and while you would have to add some material in the middle somewhere to reach the longer Buick wheelbase, you'd have modern suspension and steering and the motor mounts would be in place to accept a small block Chevy.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
