Ford F100 rearends
Building a '48 F1 streetrod. I'm using the 1948 frame, but will use a 1968 F100 9" rearend assembly. The width is correct and the spring perches are in the right place to bolt up to the '48 frame. The '68 rearend I'm using came to me with 28 spline axles. Would like to know if there are any 1957 to 1972 F-100 rear axles with 31 splines available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Leo Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the RODS that take your breath away.

roof, I have a 1970 Ford, unmodified, 9 inch in my F1. It has 31 spline axles and most of the earlier trucks seem to have the same. Look around a little I'm sure you will find one.

Going racing or building a real hot engine??? If not the 28 spline axles will more than suffice.

Well some of them may be. However the one in my F1 came from around there. Bought it at the "Pick And Pull" on Monterey Highway in San Jose.
I also have another 1969 Ford rear end in my project 1955 Ford F 100. Just to be sure I pulled one of the axle's and it also is a 31 Spline. Maybe I'm just lucky!!

My 68 rear end for my 48 f1 came off a ford econoline. Same width, might check those out as well." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

Thanks for the input. The truck won't be raced, and will be around 400 H.P.. Just feel better going with 31 splines, if I can.Leo Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the RODS that take your breath away.

Unless you are racing you won't hurt the 28 spliner, and even then they take more than people give them credit for.
