    46 Ford Rocker Repair

Has anyone installed a set of bitchin rockers in a 46 ford coupe?

I just saw this so hopefully someone else can benefit from my experience.

I did a few years back. I used their entire set on both sides as well as the outer skin they offered to repair the roll behind the door. The pieces were acceptable however they don't offer a one piece solution for the entire length. My car was a former drag car and most of the floor had been removed. Mother nature then finished the rest off.
I did find that I had to do a fair amount of trimming and fitting to get something close to the original. THE FRONT ROCKER BOX ISN"T WIDE ENOUGH TO FIT THE INNER STRUCTER CORRECTLY. I had to add a trippled up, 3/4" addition and reshape the box to match the original. Since they were the only ones on the market I had no other choice. I do seem to recall a stamping out there that matched the original but you would still need your floor in good health to create the proper structure (Bob Drake?).

As for the outer rocker...don't wast your money on the bitchin component. Contact:

These guys make a beautiful stamping that also addresses the wrap around at the base of the B pillar...Where were these guys five years ago?...AARRGH!

My sympathies to anyone venturing down this road...I feel your pain.
