Aluminum Dashes, custom or prefab??
Hey guys, sorry ahead of time, you're going to be getting LOTS of threads from me over the next few weeks as I try to figure things out on the new car.
The dash is all split on this one, rather than go to a new dash pad, we're thinking about replacing the whole dash. I've seen aluminum dashes in racers before, are they all custom or is there a place that makes them for different models of car?
Thanks!

Red I believe Dave S. has done a few here as well as ones I forget who did. Are you guys going to rip out the whole dash and make a panel, or just do a cutout in the existing setup.
Here is a nice blurp that may help

I dont know what you are working on but from building several race cars most alum dashs are custom made, but the last two I build we installed custom fiber glass dashs. Jerry Bickel has some dashs and some fiberglass company out of Fl. I cant remember there name.Sometime Kool is the Rule But Bad is Bad

I like to do my own....Never have been happy with the pre fab ones cuz I like certain gauges and switches in certain places.... Aluminum is easy to work with, gauge holes can be made with the appropriate sized hole saw.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Rick (my uncle) was thinking we could take the dash that is in there out and take it to a shop and they could just use it as a pattern to bend us one out of aluminum, then we can put he dashes how we want?? He knows a guy at a metal shop, save us some money. we don't have a big enough bender to fab it up ourselves.
