Thread: are 1950 f1 fenders interchangeable with 51's?

Hey guys, my uncle thought he'd save us some work, got a good deal on a 1950 f1 body, everything straight, repaired (our fenders, front and back have cancer where they attach to the running boards, common). only problem, I don't think they're the same. I haven't seen them yet but top of my head I remember the 50 has the ugly front grill and the fenders fit it different.

The whole front clip will fit, but I think the fenders are different around the grille opening. You could use the later fenders for patch panels on your rusty originals, they are the same at the back end.
Most prefer the earlier front look, anyway.

The prefer the 1950 grill over the 1951?!!! That's just crazy!

front and rear fender are not the same. the whole front clip will interchange as the whole bed but the bed on the 50 is stamped and not straight panels on the side and the tail gate have differant chain hook locations and the side rail supports are differant. and the 50 is a FAR BETTER LOOKING TRUCH TO ME but I am predigest I have seseveral of them ED

Well we're going to switch out the whole bed, so that part will be fine. but the front I guess isn't going to work out as well. The 50 would be better looking, IF it had the 51 grill
