had not one thing to do with direction it was a 5 buy 3 foot pic of alum for the back of a dual turbo v6 850 hp+ BAD ASS liquid to air inter cooled Co2 air shifted liberty 5 speed buick grand national that was all VFN glass but the rear clip. can you say alot of work ... did all the tin and down tubes. custom glass and body and paint work had over 24+ hours in just the custom hood with no paint the car was black and we black out the side quarter glass. as the drive had some ..set back .. so i made up the alum side panels and ran some bead work in to them . so if you can hand crank and run a 5 by 3 alum all by your self ?like i did i love to watchi did both of them by my self .i did catch my hand in it . as for hot steel in the ears i have had that happen to many times . when i welded rockers on at the body shop some times they bit back .the last time took along time to get my one ear to work good .i must of been low on ear wax that day .smelled like someone was cooking porkLast edited by pat mccarthy; 02-18-2010 at 06:52 PM.

i have a wheel also , it stands in the corner unused . i have had classes on using it and still i have alot of trouble . it takes atleast 2 persons to hold the sheet of metal to form a roof skin and it will take you 2-3 days to wheel it out .
first thing i would look for would be roof off another car to cut off and use as a template or use on your car then learn on something small first . if i remember correct is that not the same crown as a 57 ford 4 dr sedan ?yes i drove ,the trailer didnot drive it's self

The roof insert in my coupe [32 Essex Terraplane] is the back 3/4 of a 59 chevy 4-dr roof. I've also used a 55 chevy wagon roof to make a deck-lid and fill the roof on a 31 Dodge coupe. The lower deck panel in my coupe was made from the very rear section of a 55 Pontiac 4-dr Ht roof, and the fire wall was made from the recess on a 58 ford deck lid. lots of good tin can be cut out of old cars and still be used, make a cardboard template of all the radius' you need and tear out to the junk yard!
Thank you Roger. .
