    '93 Corvette primary cooling fan.

The primary fan on my '93 Vette shelled, and I bought a used one from a salvage yard (Dino's). My problem is removing the old fan. My Hanes manual says to simply remove the four screws holding the shroud in place, disconnect the plug, and lift it out.

Unfortunately, there's a crossmember right behind the fan, and it cannot be pulled back far enough to remove it.

    Help. Anyone?

NEVER MIND. i FIGURED IT OUT. Loosen all of the radiator shroud bolts, disconnect radiator hose, insert 2x4 between radiator shroud and engine block, apply heavy pressure with right hand, curse loudly, pull fan out with left hand.

Installation is the reverse of removal . . . at least Hanes had that right.
