Remove Evaporator Or Not?
Another question for you professionals… The AC does not work. I do not intend to fix it, rather remove the compressor and install a dummy pulley. The evaporator (ac radiator) is massive. It covers all but about 1” of the normal radiator. Since I do not intend to fix the ac would it be any benefit to remove the evaporator or will it make any real difference? It’s not the easiest thing to get out so if it won’t help anything then why bother. The oil cooler is off to the side but I may have to remove the tranny cooler to get it all the way out. My thoughts on removing it is it would make room to install electric fan in it’s place for future use.
This comes about because I was looking into why the small electric fan in front of the evaporator never came on. I found the motor was froze up. Replacing it is $70.00 but with no working ac I don’t see the point.

No need to remove it. Leave it there for the next guy to worry about!

if you're selling the vehicle , leave it in. If you are keeping it, take it out ,you will have better air flow to the radiator by it not blocking.
And a Happy Birthday Wish for Mr. Spears. Hope you can have a great one. :)
