    Edelbrock carbs

I just picked up a new car. My question is-how can you tell if the carb is a Edelbrock 600 or 750? The carb is chrome and the numbers are covered. Is there a way just by looking at it? Car is running rich and no matter how I adj idle screws nothing helps. Even took them out and checked for dirt. I'm running a 350 SB. Thanks

you may need to change out the set up srings or more ? if it has some cam you have to take the carb off and measure the bore size on the throttle body. edelbrock web site will tell you what CFM it is if your have the bore size numbers

Go to the Edelbrock website and download and print the tuning guide and check ALL the settings, the first thing that comes to mind when I hear your problem is improper float settings and excess fuel pressure these carbs and the AFB's work best with 4.5 to 5.5 psi NEVER exceed 6 psi and don't think because it may have a stock fuel pump thats not the problem sometimes they can put out over that and drive you nuts, get a regulator.

What the others said and go ahead and pick up a tuning kit for it and you will be good to go. Better get that regulator like JeffB2 said they like 4.5 to 5.5 PSI and no more.
