Various Questions.
1992 Chevrolet Caprice. My ABS light pops up today, any ideas on where I should begin to look on fixing the problem? I’ve got some, what I would call “mild body rust” in some places where the rust spot is about the size of a half dollar or so, what do you suggest I do to correct this problem and preventative measures also. Also is it possible to put a turbocharger on any engine? More specifically a 351. Are all engines street legal? What makes a car non-street legal? Any help would be appreciated; thanks.

95.555% of the time, emissions causes cars to be non street legal. I do belive superchargers are made for 351's but I don't know about turbo's. Personally I would rather take a little power to turn the supercharger than, restrict the exzaust with a turbo. Your brakes need changin on the caprice there buddy. 92 Caprice, sand it then re paint it or, if it's through the body and that isen't the best car with 170,000 on it just turn it in to a BONDO car.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Oh, I thought it was an indicator that the ABS was out or something, like I said I’m only 15 so I don’t exactly have a lot of real world car experience. I know it isn’t the best car but right now, at 15, without a job and trying to make it through school I don’t exactly have the change lying around to buy another car. I suppose I’ll look into the Bondo idea, thanks for the recommendation. I actually just hit 170,000 on the Caprice about 15 minutes ago. Its sitting on 170,002 right at this moment hehe. When you say change the brakes do you mean like the pads? I started noticing that when I apply the breaks now I can feel like the pulsing if I really lay on the brakes.

Yep, ur pads are shot, mabey rotors 2 but u can have dem tings turned down at a napa or place like that. The ABS light is the light that warns u the brakes needs fixed, or it meannins that the Anti Lock Braking System ( ABS ) is in affect, this happens durin hard braking, really really hard breakin. But sounds to me like a simple brake job. That aint a bad car but it is a little worn. I to am 15 but, I own the 83' Benz as in my description and next year will be putting ither a ford 302 in it or bolting the body to a 90' ranger frame which contains a 2.9 V6 but, for this year I'm fixing up a goog compleat 67' GMC K15 4X4You don't know what you've got til it's gone

Do you happen to use any kind of messenger service, AIM? Message IDTuned is so. Or if you have another type of messenger and you wouldn't mind telling me which type I'd like to talk with you there, because asking questions about cars online in a forum isn't exactely an easy thing to do on the learning end.
