I still like taking a new gun apart to get the worst of the crud out - I at least pull the needle as well as the tip assembly and wash them separately, THEN I run a cup of automotive lacquer thinner through it (not that crap from the big box stores which has water and oils in it)

What gun did you buy, Steve?

On thinner, Dave gave good advice. Local here I got 5 gallons of automotive lacquer thinner (labeled cleaner) from my independent paint guy for $30. He has a small, local solvent guy that packages good stuff, and he passes on the savings. The box stores got more than $10/gallon, and theirs leaves a film on things.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

My guns are new from summit, purchased last year on sale that are a two gun set made by Devilbliss, Frontline series. These guns I believe were also mentioned in Hot Rodder last year.

    FYI
The PPG DPLF epoxy primer, K36 urethane primer and Deltron Basecoat/Topcoat used in the September 2010 Street Rodder Mag article are no longer available in Canada. I am not sure about the Concept clearcoat.
Omni Plus is still available, otherwise we have to use Envirobase/Aquabase waterborne.
