Some use a small water pump pulley to pump more coolant. V8 Monza's had the smallest at 5.25" (I think) and they needed it. Monza's use a short water pump.
Some HiPo pulleys are a little deeper to help stop the belt from jumping.
SB Corvette water pumps have a larger impeller shaft so they use a pulley with a larger pilot (3/4" vs 5/8") hole.Last edited by djv8ga; 08-18-2010 at 05:15 PM.

no sbc and bbc may work old short pump water pulley only. crank pully will not . it will bolt up but the sbc will not center on the .bbc hub id and in time bust off .newer sbc and bbc long pump are not the same and will not fit .smaller pulley for the water pump may not do any thing for you if the intake is alum you run a hi flow pump you may just push it threw to fast. start with the right bbc pulleys for startersLast edited by pat mccarthy; 08-18-2010 at 05:06 PM.

I've had much better success with a stock pump and Monza pulleys then with expensive HiPo water pumps and common pulleys in my Vega's. The pulleys help a LOT in slow traffic and at an idle. They're are a ton of variables when it comes to cooling as we all know.
Also, I didn't read the OP's post correctly. I didn't realize he was talking about swapping BB and SB pulleys...my bad.Last edited by djv8ga; 08-18-2010 at 05:11 PM.

I just wanted to let anyone here that I work for Evans cooling systems. I help hot rod/street rod/ and anything else making power to give them better soultions for helping a car to cool down.
I help anyone with a problem, even if they are using a 50/50 mix. I also DO NOT try to sell anything. I just try to point guys in the right direction for cooling help. So if you have a heat problem with your car , just let me know.
I will ask lots of questions to get info needed to help diagnose.
It's a help if you tell me kind of car, HP it makes, kind of radiator(aluminum or copper/brass) if it's aluminum , how big are the inside tube widths. What kind of pump? electric or belt driven? overdrive on the pulleys? smaller pump, larger crank? what kind of fan? belt or electric. If belt is it shrouded?

thanks guys for info, the reason I brought this up is that I am running the same water
pump pulley on the BB that I was on a SBC....Someone told me there were differences
in diameters of the pulleys...I will be having a 8850 hi flow Edlebrock in a few days for
the BBC
I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
