    BBC Cam idle quality ???

What kind of idle can I expect from this cam? Car, gears and Use aside. What can I expect for idle roughnes or smoothness in a 9.25:1 comp ,781 w double spring + dampener bigger valve headed 461 BBC motor w 1 7/8 primary tube headers, T400 transmission w 2200 stall. Trying to decide if I need to make changes B4 I install it..

This is a relatively mild cam and should have a fairly smooth idle.

This cam is not what I would call aggressive, and it should give you a noticeable idle and work well with your stall converter and give you good street manners. I would use the valve springs recommended by the cam manufacturer. Everything else looks good to me.

The springs are little heavier than the ones they sell for the cam, but are good to 625 lift, (I have the last set of .060Vspring shims out of ea. spring for break in then I will replace them) With the port matched and pocket ported 781 heads having Manley BBC square port valves w titanium retainers, 10 deg. locks, PC seals, Comp Cams Chrome Moly pushrods etc. Just kind of insurance and a plan for future upgrades. The plan is for this to be installed my 67 Tempest to replace the built but worn "in every garage" sbc for break in then back out for more aggressive changes ;D
