    Headlight Help

I would like to replace my headlight bulbs with something brighter and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get at the bulbs. I believe they have been converted already but I'm not 100% sure. I have taken off the big nut and taken the headlight off of the pedistal and taken the little flat head screw out from the bottom. I didn't pry to hard as I do not want to break anything but it just seemed solid, like I was missing a step. Any help would be appreciated.

These are the headlight assemblies in question.

Since you have taken off the pedestals, look at the bottom of the pedestal to see where it bolts on. Take off that nut to just have the headlight assembly in your hand. There should be screws to release the headlight from the assembly inside the fixture the headlight is sitting in.
Look for a 3 prong plug that is attached to the back of the headlight.

Greetings, Nice looking car by the way.

My headlights on the 36 chevy were a bit confusing to get to the bulbs too. So maybe it is the same way on your plymouth.

There is a small hole underneath the front ring. If you take a small slotted screw driver, you will notice a slotted screw that you can only get to by having the screw driver unscrew it from the side of the light fixture.

Once the front ring is lose enough, it will unhook from a top clip and slide right off.

Then you will see (likely) three small slotted screws that will hold the reflector in place. Once those screws are off, the entire reflector assembly is free.

You don't need to unbolt the whole assembly from the fendor to do this, I've done it several times once I figured it out.

Hope this helps, let us know.
