Is it ok to re-use a balancer?

I've got the original balancer off of a '78 that using as my block. I was wondering if it was ok to re-use the original or just spend the $75 for a new one. I thought that stock balancers were just milled from one piece of steel, but this one looks like it has some type of rubber seal or bushing of some sort.

I would suggest buying the new one, you don't want the old one to separate at load.
