The best power windows?
I need to buy flat glass power window kits for my 1937 Cadillac LaSalle.
The differences in price are immense but they all seem to utilize the same basic design. What makes one better than another? Is one easier to install? Is there a huge difference in the quality of the motors?
Any advice would be appreciated. This is a low buck build and these power windows are poised to be my most expensive purchase since buying the car and a donor Suburban.
Thank you

I've been using Dakota Digital window kits and remote door openers for about 5 or 6 years now...no complaints, no failures.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Thanks for the posts. Yikes!!! I thought $500 for my 4 window car was expensive but these will cost me $700-$800. Any other brands that aren't crap but are maybe a little cheaper?
Don and Dave: Is it the quality that you like or is there something else unique about the installation or design?
Thanks again

Quality is the big thing for me. Tried a couple cheaper brands, switches were cheapies, tracks were thin and flimsy...Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

This would be a lot less painful purchase if I had fewer windows.

Try NU Relics they bolt right in to your exhisting holes, are made in America and, they work great.

I had assumed Nu-relics didn't have models for my car, now I know they do. Unfortunately, they only work if you have some of the existing components for operable windows (window channels, glass channels, etc.)...I don't. Thank you

Nu-relics are also not inexpensive...$850 for my four door. I have gotta be able to get this done all in for less than that.

I went to the wrecker and found a set of window regulators out of a Jeep cherokee that worked great for my pickup. 40 bucks a piece! just had to straighten the track, and a few little mod where needed to mount them.

Have you looked at Ball's rod and custom. They have a lifetime warranty.

I just logged in to ask the same question. I went the cheap rout and bought a couple of EZ kits for my car a couple of months ago. I just ordered my glass a couple of days ago and the guy told me that they would not hold up because my glass is too big and heavy. Now I get to return them and pay a 20% restock fee. So much for saving a few bucks. I will look into some of the brands you guys suggested.

Who better to do it then yourself?

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
