Need Help finding a Ford 9"
Hello everyone! I've been gone for a while, but I'm back! I really excited because I finally saved up enough $ to have my 1935 Ford get some new suspension and drive train parts. I'm currently having my framce c-notched as well as having a triangulated 4 link being put in on the rear. Originally I was going to do the mustang II front end at the same time, but i figured that I might as well button up the rear end instead. So here's my question. I have absolutely no idea how and where to buy a descent Ford 9" rear end for my car. I also have no idea which Ford 9" will fit my 1935 ford 5 window coupe. I've seen a 1964 Ford galaxy rear end being used, but on a 1935 Ford truck. I've also heard that a windsor rear end would work???? Anyways, your advice would help tremendously. I should also mention that my car is going to be a driver, not a garage queen....so I'm leaning away from buying a $5000 set up that is all chrome and fancy looking (not that I wouldn't like having it, just don't wanna mess it up). Thanks in advance!

Hi Don, welcome back. I'd suggest you buy the wheels and tires you want to run, prop them up under your 35 where they fit and look right, then measure the wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface distance. Then look at this chart and find one that is close:

I have one I was going to use in a 35/36 pickup i just did for the customer, Yes it depends on your wheels and offset. Though the customer changed his wheels and offset so i gave him the one out of my 58 Ranchero. Your welcome to the one i have kicking around. I see your local, its yours free if you want it. I hate crap laying around. The pic can give you a idea on the offset of the rear wheel.
