Street Legal Sprint Car Build- Need Light, ideas
Hello guys, we race 360 winged sprint cars. I'm building a custom street legal, in-line two seat sprint, that will look just like our racer. It will be used as a tool, to inform people with our cause, "Racers Against Texting While Driving". I have already posted a thread about my niece dieing while texting. If you want to read about her accident and the plans to utilize this sprint, here is the link.

We built the first single seat, sprint for a customer. It turned out very well and photo's are below. The purpose of this thread, is to gain ideas on some of the customizing, and to refine the car.
Headlights, turn signals & brake lights-
HEADLIGHTS-
The normal round headlight's look too large, like a big BUG.
The smaller rectangle's look better, but not great.
I hear the round headlight with the turn signal built in, oncoming traffic can't see the signal when the headlights are on.
Are there any removable "quick disconnect" headlight's on the market for like Hot Rods ?
It would have to be simple, and not a pain in the @ss to unbolt/un-clamp.
TURN SIGNALS-
The sprint car bumper below, would be great to french-in signals. A few years ago, I saw a Hot Rod that the signals were shaped as arrow's, and looked great, but I don't recall how they were cut and what were used for a lens and light ?
BRAKE LIGHTS-
The same french-in applies here also. Either in the "down tubes" or in the rear bumper. Look at the photo's and shoot me some ideas.

Tailights might look good lower on the down tubes, or even between the tubes on the rear bumper..maybe some of the aftermarket vertical lights?
Could you work some frenched in headlights on the bottom side of the front wing?
or, Headlights could be put on with an electrical plug in and something like a shock pin holding them in place on a bracket off the front bumper or front bar tube?
Looks kewl, much hassle from the cops driving it around? I've got a Schnee chassis, thinking about turning it into a two seater and giving some rides!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave- I agree. The customer wanted the tail lights up high, for what ever reason. I'm trying to find some kind of thin halogen lighting, no luck so far.
Yes, with 200 miles, we've been stopped 3 times. Show them the pink slip & no problems.
I'm just starting my 2-seat. The build will be in Circle Track Magazine. I think it will work great for our cause.
This company has some very interesting lighting. The narrow strip should work for the brake lights in the bumpers, maybe even turn signals. What do you think ?

Bill- I wonder how bright they would be for highway use ?
Is that the fastest John Deere on the planet ? lol
