Rear end ratio
Is there a way to determine the ratio by counting revolutions of the drive shaft and tire? No tags on the rear end. S10 Blazer.

If the rear is a posi, jack up the rear, mark the bottom of the tire and the bottom of the driveshaft and turn the tire one revolution while counting how mwny times the driveshaft goes around.
If ti's NOT a posi, do the same thing with the vehicle slowly rollin forward on the ground.
Or, you could pull the rear cover anf count the teeth.Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like

Yep, I've got an S10 rear in the 23, non posi and I simply put a mark on the tire and on the driveshaft then rolled it forward and counted the driveshaft and tire revolutions. Mine ended up a 3:00, which seems high, but worked out perfect.

If it's an open rear end, jack up one wheel and turn it two turns, counting the driveshaft turns.

OK so if the rear end is supposed to be a 323 how does that equate to revolutions?

Thanks guys it is about 3 1/3 drive shaft revolutions v.s. 2 tire revolutions. Now I need start a new thread to address wheel back spacing.
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
