On my old 429 everything(peripheral) was interchangeable with the 460. Same block different stroke. Just cranks, and strokes that are different. Now this was for the same year block. Not sure about different year blocks. One way to check is go to a place like summit and look up an intake and see if it is the same for the two different years and engine sizes you are looking at. That should be the fastest way I would think, or wait for Paul Kane to hop on and answer, he's the big 460 Ford guru around here." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

If I recall correctly the only things that are different are the flywheel and the balancer on the outside of the engine.I remember when hot rods were all home made.

1980-up 460's are Detroit balanced, there's a weight on the ring gear. The 429 doesn't have a weight. You need a 429 flywheel, or ring gear with an automatic.
I assume the F700 was a standard trans, and the motorhome is an automatic? If so, you might be able to remove the weight from the 460 'wheel, but a new one is cheap, and you probably need a new ring gear anyway.Last edited by R Pope; 09-27-2010 at 04:22 AM.
