vin number
anyone got a way to take rust off so i can see the vin thats stamped on the chassis? I see it a little bit but its rusted and i dont want to sand it off.

use a little rust penetrant and steel wool.....Toys

Use a wire brush on a drill. Shouldn't hurt it. I couldn't see mine and did that. Mine is so old that I didn't exspect to see anything. I can't see it all because of it's age.

thanks a lot guys. If its a 39 ford it shouldnt start with a 18-30 should it?

anyone know what my serial number should start with if its a 39 ford? the chassis says 18-3020 and 3 more numbers
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
