Windshield glass or any saftey glass will break due to 2 things........hitting it with something, or stress on the glass. The stress can be coming from the glass being fit in too tight in the frame. If thats the problem then allowing for some breathing room is what you need. Also putting a good rubber gasket around it will help it from any twisting of the body .

Have you considered just having a glass shop install the new panes in there for you? I've had a few done over the years, the price is extremely cheap if they are flat pieces, and never had any issues.

    Just a thought.

Don, I agree. I found a guy to cut my front & back glass that moonlights on rods & customs, but he insisted that he glue them in so they were done right. I was amazed at his consistency and craftsmanship, and the two pieces cost me less than $100 for the installation ($220 total cost) done at my shop 25 miles from him, and 15 miles out in the country. There's no way I could have gotten the smooth, professional finish that he did on the mastic - too many tricks after 35 years doing it

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
