    Slapstick not funny

     



    many people seem to think that manualy working a 2 speed slapstick can be advantageouse ,I've tried shifting it manualy but it don't respond immediately.Am I not tached up enough or is an automatic always going to act the way it wants.I'm afraid to rev the piss outa it ,any suggestions?

    An automatic will shift like an automatic...UNLESS

    You install a manual valve body and turn up the pump pressure. Then it will do as it's told.

    I don't know what trans you have, but manual valve body kits are available for most older trannys.
    Ensure that the path of least resistance is not you...

    It's a 1974 'Cuda with 318 with 2 speed TorqueFlight.Though the engine was bone stocker (2bbl and all) I'm pretty sure it has 3.83 gears(tire vs. driveshaft math) and a shift kit.If I stand on it and let nature take its course it'll chirp the tires when 2nd hits.
