    Help Identifing Rochester

I bought 3 small base rochester and I need help identifing them. All trhee have the same numbers stamped on them 7042100. I was told that they may be from oldsmobile. If they are correctly set up will they still work for my tripower set up?

Just in case here are the other numbers on the carbs 2871CA, 2951CA1, 2371CA1

Here's a link that will help you know what you have - Chevy units from '72? If two are not set up as secondaries Speedway has a kit but not sure what the "2G" designation is...

The pictures are small so hard to tell, but the base is throwing me a little. Most of the Rochesters that fit tripower type manifolds are 2G carbs with rectangular bases. Yours looks like it is shaped differently. It might bolt on though, but not sure how it would seat on the manifold gasket.

Well they do fit cause I have placed them on the manifold. I will need the correct base gasket as the typical square ones leave one small gap. I was doing some searching last night and with the stamped numbers I figured that these are 1972 rochester 2gv's. They used to have the vacuum choke bolted to the side of the bowl. Thats probably why the base seems oddly shaped.

Don't try to "cheap out" like I did on my set. Just plan on buying the "thick" throttle plates and shafts for the end carbs. Might even be ahead to buy the end carb base plates from Speedway from the start.
