There is no frame in a '63 Falcon. And the springs have nothing to do with getting the motor in place other than being in the way. With a S10 clip change, one call to Eaton Detroit Spring will have the correct springs on the way the following day and off-the-shelf headers are available.
There is a subframe kit for the Falcon's of that year. Or if you prefer, you can call the uni-body in that area, and engine mount holder. What ever you want to call the part that holds the engine motor mounts is fine with me.
The ((rear springs)), if it's a 6, will need to be changed, and no, they aren't in the way of anything to do with the engine change. Just reminding him to beef them up in the rear after the increase of cubes and power.
If you get the shock tower kit that is available, headers will fit fine.
There is probably a way to do it if you use cast iron exhaust manifolds and beat hell out of the shock towers with a BFH, but the stock manifolds will give up about 60 hp to a good set of headers. If I had to use manifolds, I'd re-think the whole project in the first place.
That's if you want to go big block, then you use the BFH. Headers usually add about 30 hp, depending on how the exhaust is done up.
And for the last time in this thread, the OP did not ask about installing a 351W, he asked about installing a 350. Now, I took this to mean a 350 Chevy, but Jerry Clayton said the OP just said 350 and maybe it could be another kind of 350. Well, I guess it could be a 308 Hudson poked and stroked to 350, but I doubt it. It could also be a 350 Pontiac or 350 Buick or 350 Oldsmobile, but I doubt that also.
I agree, for the last time in this thread,
He asked about an easy way. I simply added another option he could do. 350 ? Well, if you bore a 350 0.030 over, it's bigger than a 350 now isn't it. 350 anything, including a Ford seems close to me. How ever, the size of a small block 350 Chevy, and a 351W is really close. Not the same as an Olds, Pontiac, Buick, or a poked and stroked Hudson.
I'm not sure why you chose me to relate this great information to, but it's not needed for my benefit. You need to think more before you make rude remarks that are uncalled for.
Watch out Paul, your probably next.
And a Happy Birthday Wish for Mr. Spears. Hope you can have a great one. :)
