    Breaking up

My car runs just fine down the highway and even on the interstate. When I jump hard on it, it starts breaking up really bad. Any suggestions? I have a 350SB with a edelbrock 600 carb a MSD 6A ignition & a MSD Blaster 2 coil with a MSD pro-billet flat top dist set with 1-silver(heavy)spring & 1-silver (light) spring with timing set at 34 degrees BTDC. I'm puzzled that the car runs great until you really jump on it.

Jumping on it is increasing the electrical demand. When did you last change your plugs? I would probably drop a set of new plugs in it to eliminate them from the equation, but get quality plugs. There's been a rash of crappy plugs coming in from the Far East sweat shops in the last couple of years - some bad out of the box.

You didn't mention what you have for plug wires, might want to check them with an ohmeter and see what condition they are in....

what dave said ,.. if you have an automatic trans put it in gear and give it throttle against the brake and see if it misses .. or do it in the dark and look for voltage jumping

Thanks guys. The wires are 8mm taylor wires. The plugs are new A/C just replaced. Valve springs are stock sb and only have 1400 miles on them. Just one of those things I just can't put my finger on it. I'm going to check the alumninum gas line to see if it has a kink in it. After our show this week. Thanks for the valuable hints.
