    Stromberg WW 6-115 Carb Question

On the Stromberg WW 6-115 Carb (type used on 53-55 Studebaker V8's) there is a threaded opening in the rear of the carb body just below the air inlet (air inlet on this carb is rear facing). Can anyone tell me what this port is used for? Thanks.

Hi Harry, sorry I can't help you with your question on the carby but I had a look at your photo's of your bucket and man can I say it is a little beauty. I like that it is an excellent example of "A little is more" and keeping it simple can result in a fantastic look ride, well done. Also notice that you have been a member on here since 2004 from memory put have only post 42 times, so welcome back to the family and I hope you can enjoy any input you may wish to partake in.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

The only threaded opening that i recall on the stromberg ww is the vacuum fitting in the base. The strombergs i have done have been on chevies, maybe the fitting is a studebaker thing. You aren't confused with the carter 2gc are you, it has a threaded boss up high on the back where a large screw goes in and it is a controlled vacuum leak from the base of the carb to above the venturi. It has a special bull-nosed screw, large 7/16 or more.
Hope i helped, if i just confused you more then my work here is done. oj
