Help Iding this Carter Quadrajet Carb
This carb is on my wife's 72 Vette.
Carter Quadrajet Carb
In the circle the number is 17059884
and there is two other numbers
1705 8204
2557 BHT
I am thinking this thing is a Checker / Marine carb.
Whats it doing on a Vette???
What the heck is a checker???

Could be a "replacement" or a rebuild.
Checker, particularly the 1956-82 A8/Marathon, remains the most famous taxi cab vehicle in the United States. There were a lot of them in New York.

Yep the ethanol ate it up.
I cracked it open and there was so much water in it that there was white corrosion all thru it. I ain't even gonna wast my time trying to rebuild it. I want a edelbrock for it anyway. Kurt
