    Holley Carb

Hey guy's and gal's I am getting ready to pull my carb. off and check for clogs. It is a 670 street avenger elec. choke. I have ordered a kit for it and am wondering if there are things to look out for. I think the idle circuit is clogged. We determined that on another thread. other than pulling the front bowl off do I have to split the top from the base to get to that area for clean out?

check the top for clean bleeds--sometimes they get junked up, use a tiny drill bit to just twist to scrape the hole clean and then squirt carb or brake clean down them---might even help to back out or remove the idle mix screws so more fluid can pass then reset

The best way to do an older carb over is to take it totally apart. Use either brake clean or lacquer thinner with a stiff small brush and small diameter wire to run thru the air bleeds. I don't like using small drills in air bleeds as you can remove metal from the hole and change the flow.
Then using high air pressure and blowing everything out and put back together with all new gaskets.

I would suggest you pick up the book for holley's from Summitt. It is money well spent.

Well----on a Holley--the idle circuits are very easy to clean--on the vehicle, even with the engine running---a little spray cleaner is pretty much all you need
