Is there a differance between a bolt on yoke and a slip on yoke. slip on longer???? Can a slip on yoke be used on a trans that is bolt on??Charlie

what is the purpose of a bolt on yoke ..?iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

They are used on trucks with two pc. drive shaft. when the rear moves the yoke has to move in and out the trans. when its bolted it can't the drive shaft is splined (two pcs.) so it moves inside itself.Charlie

Beware that some of the output splines on a bolt on yoke have splines missing.....to force the orientation (phasing) of the joint. If you have a bolt on yoke tranny, unbolt the yoke and try your slip yoke on it.....you need at least an inch or so of travel. Make sure the seal area diameter is the same for the two or else you will have a small mess. If you have the missing spline style output shaft on the trans, you will have to find a yoke that matches. Call TCI or another reputable shop

Slip on yoke will fit and work fine.Buying parts I don't need, with money I don't have, to impress people I don't like
