Offy tri power intake with 55' Pontiac 287
I've got a 55 287 that I have been working on. Currently its at a friends
machine shop getting worked over. I picked up a off tri power intake for it, I
believe it was stamped 5028 I'd have to double check to be sure. Anyway my
question is, Is there an after market alternator bracket that I can use with
this set up or will I just have to fabricate one myself. The intake doesn't
have any bracket provisions like say a stock 57' intake. And the usual
aftermarket brackets wont work on the early poncho block. I'm sure I can
fabricate something myself if I had to but was wondering if anybody else maybe
dealt with this before can give me some advice.

Since that engine originally had a generator, not an alternator, you are probably going to have to fab up one. Don't know of any off the rack aftermarket ones to fit it, but it won't be the most difficult job in the world. Just find a spot where the pulleys line up and start from there.

Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
