    the holes in manifolds have always been bigger than the distributers--that keeps a poorly fitting intake from forcing your dist and oil pump drive off center---engines where the dist goes directly into the block will fit better

    Jerry, Would the distrib gear or cam gear not be a bigger concern here? Just asking because i remember back in the 70's when my race Camaro wore the bronze gear and took my gear of my roller cam.

    i am not jerry.. but that is no... i built intakes re work dist and used many bronze gears there is different make ups of bronze some gears lasted longer then others gears. the gears that did not last long were Mr gaskets checking gear pattern was part of getting them to last as well is adding more oil on the gear helps . the intake hole is not a big deal as there a boss the dist sets in to the block so it can not flop around when its clamp down on the intake gear is at far end of the dist can not be off very much as your at the other end were the dist sets in the intake
