    Frame Id?

From my other posts you know i just bought a street rod, and trying to identify what was used etc.

I was looking at the frame and found it has a 120 inch wheel base, and searched and found that all GM A body platforms had 120 in wheel bases. Is there a VIN number or serial number located on a frame anywhere?

Looking at the engine mounts, trans mount and rear end, it looks like a complete gm drivetrain, gotta see if i can see the block casting date and vin too.

Are you thinking they did a frame swap from some newer car?

On top of the frame right in front of the steering box should be a serial number. Might be hard to read. Use a drill with a wire wheel to locate it. Seen it in that location on a few.

Yeah, there is no way its a 41 Chrysler frame, looks suspiciously like a Astro Van or S10 at least some of the stuff under there does, the cross member is really narrow, i was thinking it was 78-81 Monte Carlo, but my son has a 79 Monte and the frame looks nothing like this one. Here are some pics maybe you guys have seen something like it before.

Engine Casting number is GM10066036, Crate motor made in Mexico, not sure about the trans. Diff has 3.00 9 860A 1FB on the tag, so i take it its a 3.00 rear end. The casting on the chunk has a D2SW A668A on it.

the answer to why doesnt the speedo work, is that it was never hooked up, the wire is still coiled on the cross member. i think the little box on the front left frame rail is some kind of anti lock brake thing that i have seen on some GM cars.
