Aren't you getting into that time of year when you can expect about a fifteen to thirty minute toad strangler downpour nearly every afternoon? May be a bit early yet, but we experienced that on most summer time trips in FL as I recall, and a native told us without those there's no break to the temperature, and it gets to the point the sidewalks melt your shoes...

Yep Kurt, Florida weather is reallly strange. Some days it looks like it is going to pour any minute and nothing happens at all. Other days it is totally clear and suddenly it starts to come down in buckets. I've found the best way to insure it will rain is to drag out all our painting equipment and start spraying some car parts.....works every time.

It is also strange that it will be pouring on one side of the street and the other side never gets a drop.

Yep you called it, It is exactly like that Roger.
I can put stuff in the shop out of the weather to try to keep it from rusting.
And the next day you go out and open the shop and everything is rusted anyway.
This is another reason I am moving back to Nevada.
You can leave stuff out side there for a year then go out and look at it and no rust, just like Arizona.
I am just trying to get everything ready for my first load out there this week.
Then fly back and get another load back out.

I remember it seemed like every day it would rain at around 3:30 in the afternoon. I was in St.Pete about 18 years ago for 2 years.

In the late 60's, I lived in close to Montgomery Alabama. 2:00 every afternoon, not a cloud in the sky and pouring rain for about 1/2 hour. You could almost set your clock by
    it.

Yep, As pops said. We can insure rain by dragging out anything we want to paint outside!
