    Try Sherman for the rear quarters, if you don't find them there we probably have them available through a parts store in town. I could check if you want me to, or I can send you the guys name and phone number. He's an excellent source on repro tin. By the way, my Ranchero is back in the corner with a cover over it for now. Busy on other stuff that generates income and pays bills!!!!

    Streets; The guy that was working on the Ranchero for Jim the gentleman I bought it from. Already painted the whole engine compartment Black, Then Instead of rebuilding the stock 289 that came in the car, he exchanged it for a rebuilt 302 from the early 80's with 8 to 1 compression. God bless Jim he's 90 years young and doesn't have the ability to do this stuff anymore. The knuckel head he hired just took advantage of him. After I get all the new stuff welded on the truck will be totaly dismanteld. Sand or bead blasted and then repainted from top to bottom. I'm gonna try to get it done before any thing happens to Jim so he can see how well I'm treating his baby. He lived acrossed the street from my Dad. And since I was three, I remeber Jim driving this Ranchero So we all have a good History together. Dave if You have that Number handy I would sure apreaciate it. Thanks.

    Vara, talk to Kelly @605-256-6666. It is a Sturdevant's parts store here locally. Hopefully he has access to the quarter panels you need. If he does, I am sure he can drop ship them to you. Hope this helps, if not let me know and I'll do some searching for you.

    Thanks Dave; Sorry It took so long to get back to you but I had to pull some loads to some gas stations this morning. Just got back home. Kelly's not in to day. The other guy said they only go back as far as 66. Should I still try Kelly on monday?

    Thanks Bob; Looks like Bills speed shop may have some. His line is busy so I'll have to keep trying. I don't know If they are used or new yet.     Well Dave I'm gonna have to wait till monday could'nt get anyone to answer thier phones yesterday afternoon.But That will give me a little time to run the new cable through the attic for the 220 volt mig I bought to do the car with. Used to have a 110 mig but was'nt as good quality as this new one. Got a new 80 gallon air compressor waiting on me to pick it up. Next comes the plasma cutter.Gotta find one for a good price, that will last. My buddy Dale that works for the state of florida as a metal worker. Has gone thru three plasma cutters this year. Of course the state pays for his, and he cuts thicker stuff/metal then I'll probably ever cut with mine. But He has warned he how some of the cheaper one's like to burn out. So I need to do some research I guess. One thing I never relized was that you have to have a air compressor for the plasma cutter. Seen my buddy use the one at the shop and never relized he had air hooked up to it. Of course thats back when I was on chemo and alot of pain pills. I was'nt the sharpest pencil in the cup during those day's, OOP"s guess I still ain't HE! HE! HE!

    More specifically.........DRY air (or bottled nitrogen is an option). When you install that compressor, spring for a good dryer. It will help the tools live longer, keep from ruining paint work, and keep the plasma cutter working better.

    Also on the plasma cutter, buy one that you can readily acquire the "consumables" (mainly tips). Depending on how much you use it these can wear quickly. Some of the cheapo imports make it difficult to get these replacement parts. Like most tools/equipment, money "saved" on the front end costs much more down the road.

    Bob;Thanks for the tips on the cutter. do they use gas on them to?
    Sounds like the one I was reading about said some thing about shield gas. Is that like I have on my mig welder?I have'nt used one yet! But I think this is going to be a good step up from the old grinding wheel and grinders.

    The shield gas (typically argon or argon mix) on your mig is there to protect the weld from the effects of surrounding air (primarily the oxygen component). The air (or inert gas nitrogen) in the case of the plasma cutter is essentially there to "blow" the molten metal out of the cut. Don't throw away those grinders though. If you free hand a plasma cut you'll still need to do some edge dressing, just not as much as with a torch or whatever other butchering implement you're used to using.
