    anyone help with shorting problem when i turn on my headlights the engine dies

    Had that very problem with a company van once. Turned out being one of the bulbs was blown and was shorted inside of the bulb. Bulb was replace and all was well. Posibility!

    That's one idea, but I think you'll find a bad headlight switch.
