    if your busting the plastic body off push rod then some thing is bottoming out . if nick in the bore you would just cut the seal .so it taking to much pressure to work the pump .like bad check ball or junk .the plastic one may not be as good as a metal body one still should not fail many of them carbs have used that plastic body on pumps
